Geraldine has been working with autistic people and/or Learning Disabilities for over 25 years. After working in supported living services and residential services as a Support Worker for 8 years, she qualified as a Learning Disability Nurse in 2006 from Thames Valley University. Since then she has worked in Mental Health, Primary and Secondary healthcare, Social care and Community settings supporting adults with Autism and or learning Disabilities to achieve and maintain
good lives, through daily living support, coaching, employment education and training support, management and training alongside undertaking many different training courses around Autism, Neurodiversity and Mental health.

Most recently Geraldine was an Autism Practice Lead for a local council for 9 years working on strategic reforms under the Autism Act and the Autism strategy, working in a co-produced way with autistic people and their families and carers to affect positive change.

Geraldine is currently a Senior Advisor – People with Learning Disabilities and / or Autism for the Local Government Association. She also has two children both with Neurodiverse profiles, so has personal and professional experience in this field.
