What makes ASM different?

Expertise: Our team brings a collective 50-plus years of experience in neurodiversity. As individuals who are either neurodivergent ourselves or have neurodivergent family members, we genuinely understand the challenges and opportunities that come with it. This first-hand experience equips us to guide our clients through benefits, entitlements, advocacy, mediation, and other areas where support is needed – all through the lens of neurodiversity. Additionally, our team’s diverse expertise spans industries such as HR and the creative sector, enabling us to provide effective support to a wide range of clients and organisations.

Integrity: We’re not in this for profit, and it’s one of the reasons we moved to full employee ownership at the beginning of April 2025. Our mission has never been to make money from neurodiversity – rather, it’s always been about creating a more accepting and inclusive world where neurodivergent individuals can thrive in the workplace. While we do charge to ensure financial sustainability and fair wages for our team, our charges are invariably lower than other companies offering similar services. We also partner with like-minded charities such as Autism Forward to maximise access, and provide direct pro bono support for those clients who are in the most acute need.

Focus on the individual: We don’t place our clients and partners into formulaic, one-size-fits-all programmes – these very rarely work for neurodivergent people. Instead we take a holistic approach, always returning to one key question—what does this individual client need? This principle guides every aspect of our work.

Collaborative: We believe the responsibility to adapt shouldn’t fall primarily on neurodivergent individuals. That’s why we work closely with organisations to empower them to create more inclusive, neurodivergent-friendly workplaces. By working collaboratively we drive meaningful change and promote fair, sustainable outcomes for everyone.

Our mission

We strive to support our clients to achieve their potential as individuals and to facilitate their social inclusion through employment.

Our vision

We work towards a world where it will be completely routine and ordinary to employ autistic and neurodivergent people.

Our ethos

We believe in working individually with people, and employers, to harness their potential and create diverse and inclusive workplaces.

Our services

Our services include…

  • Job seeking
  • In work support
  • General mentoring
  • Workshops/Peer Support groups

Our History

AS Mentoring was launched in 2013 by a small team dedicated to providing individually-tailored mentoring support for autistic jobseekers and employees. Over the years, both our team and our services have continued to grow in parallel with the increasing demand for them, and have broadened out to support other neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD and dyspraxia.

Our Team

Our collective extended experience has given us a detailed understanding of the needs of neurodivergent jobseekers and employees, and of the parallel needs of employers. All of us at ASM share a deep commitment to an ongoing programme of workplace inclusion.
